Member information > Policies > Parents' rota
This is the rota of parents to provide general help at weekly meetings and specific help at activities. We need at least one parent at "normal" Troop meetings. The main reasons for this are as follows:
1. To ensure we always have the correct ratio of adults to scouts, even if we have unexpectedly a regular leader missing.
2. To help with activities during the evening: the need here is quite variable.
3. To help in cases where a scout needs particular attention e.g. a regular helper may be occupied with first aid.
Please would the parent helper try to arrive a few minutes early, so they can take part in the briefing about the meeting: that makes it easier for the parent to get involved.
A role for someone who does NOT want to spend any more time with their scout!
Generally, we hope that at least two parents will help at the start and end of each camp: getting tents and equipment sorted out.
We also hope that at least one parent will camp with us.
We need to have someone collecting in subs (and other monies) that come in during the first couple of meetings each term. This requires the person to be at the HQ for 10 minutes or so at the start and end of each of the first two meetings. Bring a pen!
