Spring Camp is a weekend at a local campsite. The programme is a mixture of activities, including campsite activities. Each of our local campsites has a different variety of activities, such as such as climbing tower, archery, assault course. potholing complex, zip wires, bouldering and many others.
As well as some of these activities, we do wide games and other games. Scouts are also likely to do some things for camping-related badges, such as axemanship, fire lighting. The Saturday evening is often a campfire with something to cook on it! Patrols cook most of their own meals and are the unit for camping.
Usual clear up session (kit cleaning and putting away) 7.00 pm on the Monday after in our hut. Hopefully some parents and Scouts will come and help - even for a short while.
We are planning our spring weekend camp at Tolmers Scout Camp, near Cuffley. It is a mixture of open field and woodland. There are a wide range of activities, provided by the site. As well as some of these, the programme will be a mixture of activities and games: this site is excellent for wide games. I hope that Scouts will do some part of the Challenge badges.
More details later.
