Meetings up to Christmas

Fri Dec 3: no meeting
Sat December 4: afternoon meeting at the hut: see below
Fri Dec 10: Christmas meeting (normal time, no uniform, Christmassy games, nothing to bring)

We then break until after Christmas: probable restart Jan 7 - to be confirmed

New scouts after Christmas: I will send information to you near the end of December, but note that we probably restart meetings on Jan 7 (to be confirmed) and I hope all new scouts will come that evening.

2 - SATURDAY MEETING DEC 4
1:30 - 6:00 pm

We will not have a Friday meeting that week (3rd) but escape darkness with a meeting on Saturday afternoon, based at the Hut. The programme will include a wide game, some backwoods cooking on woodfires and pioneering: a mix that will cover, in particular, part of the Creative Challenge badge.

NOT SIGNED UP

Not too late if done by the end of Tuesday evening, to ensure I can cater correctly.

ALREADY SIGNED UP
  • Meet at hut
  • No uniform, but adequate clothing is important. (Warmth and dryness!!)
  • Bring: eating utensils, plate mug and bowl
  • Torches may be helpful as it gets dark, but NOT essential
  • We are not requiring bringing DRY WOOD, but contributions will be accepted. Follow these guidelines.

3 - AQUILA SUMMER CAMP 2022

We have the dates (Saturday 23 July to Saturday 30 July, 2022) and site booked: St Brides Scout Camp in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. This is a very different area from our last Summer Camp. This is a Scout campsite, right on the coast near St Davids

We are now taking deposits for this, our main activity of the year. The first letter, requesting deposit is now on our website.
http://aquila.scout-troop.org.uk/Member_information/newsletters.htm

After paying the deposit, complete the short registration form:

More information:

There are some photos of the site and area:

More photos are on our noticeboard in the Scout Hut.

I think all the Scouts had a great time last Summer Camp, so I hope plenty will sign up for the next: the highlight of the Troop's year.

YEAR 9 SCOUTS: These must check if they will be eligible to continue in the Troop until this Camp. Check here:

4 - WICK CONSERVATION THANKS
We had a great turn out of scouts (and some parents): thanks to all. We achieved our main target to help preserve this beautiful woodland.

I can pass on thanks from Friends of the Wick.

This forms part of the World Challenge Badge. If you did not register beforehand, via the online form, please let me know to ensure I record this part of the badge as completed. The simplest way is to just add your scout's name in the form here:
